Cambridge staff recognised in SCMAT Awards

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of staff at Cambridge Primary School who have been recognised at this year’s SCMAT Staff Awards.

The annual awards celebrate colleagues from across the Trust who exemplify SCMAT’s aims of Inspire, Succeed and Contribute, recognising the dedication, professionalism and care they bring to their roles every day. We are incredibly proud of our staff and the positive difference they make to the lives of our pupils, families and the wider school community.

Unsung Hero (Succeed) – Gemma Groves

Gemma Groves received the Unsung Hero Award in recognition of her unwavering dedication and tireless work as the school’s SENCO. Gemma plays a vital role in ensuring that pupils with additional needs receive the support they need to thrive. She works closely with staff and families, sharing her expertise, providing practical strategies and ensuring every child has the best possible opportunity to succeed. Her commitment, knowledge and compassionate approach make her an invaluable member of the Cambridge Primary School team.

Community Champion (Contribute) – Claire Newby

Claire Newby was recognised with the Community Champion Award for her outstanding contribution to the wider life of the school and community. Claire has transformed areas of the school into welcoming spaces where pupils and families can learn, play and thrive together. She approaches every challenge with enthusiasm and has built strong relationships with parents, carers and the wider community. Whether supporting pupils individually, working with groups or engaging families in school life, Claire’s dedication has had a lasting and positive impact on the whole school community.

Inspirational Innovator (Inspire) – Andrea Elliott

Andrea Elliott received the Inspirational Innovator Award in recognition of her outstanding teaching and the positive influence she has on both pupils and colleagues. Through consistently high-quality classroom practice, Andrea inspires children to achieve their very best while motivating those around her. Her professionalism, expertise and willingness to support fellow teachers make her a highly respected member of the team and a deserving recipient of this award.
