We firmly believe in the strengths of a multi-academy trust and we welcome applications from primary and secondary schools across South Cumbria who wish to join.

Associate membership

Our associate membership programme opens up access to a number of our services together with benefits for staff. This is particularly beneficial for schools whose governing bodies have, in principle, resolved to join SCMAT, so they can work with us in the lead-up to joining.

As an associate member school, in the lead-up to joining us you will receive:

• Support through the conversion process, including application writing;
• Update and Q&A sessions for senior leaders and Governors;
• Observer status on the Trust School Head Teachers’ Committee;
• Staff drop-in sessions;
• Access to a broad staff development programme for both teaching and support staff;
• Legal expertise from experienced and qualified solicitors;
• Guidance on finance and estates matters;
• Human resources expertise;
• Support with communications to stakeholders, internal and external. This will include support through the statutory consultation process;
• Transparent due diligence on the Trust, including its track record and financial health;
• Employer engagement events with input from local businesses;
• The opportunity to shape the future of South Cumbria’s newest MAT.

We also have Victoria Infant and Nursery School as an associate member who are working with us and contribute to our SCMAT community.
