Some 12 families have signed up to Chetwynde School’s six-week parent and child maths workshops.
The Multiply scheme is a new homework club that enables parents to learn maths skills alongside their children.
Furness College teamed up with Chetwynde on the initiative where parents take part in a series of after-school sessions.
The college successfully bid to run the scheme through the Government-backed Multiply Programme to support adults to boost their numeracy skills.
Chetwynde Headteacher Steve Jefferson said: “The workshops are designed to promote a positive culture around homework and mathematics. It is lovely to see so many parents and children experiencing the benefits of learning together.”
Hilary Johns, Head of Faculty for Academic Programmes at Furness College, is also supporting the scheme which is being led by Chetwynde Year 5 tutor Hannah.
